Two held for throwing acid on minor girl in Delhi
New Delhi: Two people were arrested on Wednesday for allegedly throwing acid on a minor girl in east Delhi, police said.
"The incident took place around 8 am on Wednesday in Geeta Colony area. The 16-year-old victim was going to tuition when they threw acid on her," a senior police officer said.
"Sanjay and Deepak have been arrested while the third accomplice is absconding. He will be arrested very soon," the police officer added.
"The girl was rushed to Hedgewar Hospital. She has suffered 18 per cent burn injuries," the police officer added.
"The victim is studying in Class X in an open school. The family members of the victim told us that Deepak used to regularly trouble her. We are further investigating," the officer said.
