Rosaiah will continue as CM

Hyderabad
Oct. 6: The Congress high command is learnt to have chalked out a plan to address the succession issue in the state. In all likelihood, it will allow Mr K. Rosaiah to continue as the Chief Minister and CLP leader and convince the Kadapa MP, Mr Jagan Mohan Reddy, that he will have to wait for some more time before being considered for any promotion.
The high command will summon Mr Jagan Mohan Reddy to Delhi probably after October 10 and let its mind known to him before he meets the Congress president, Mrs Sonia Gandhi.
The Congress president’s political adviser, Mr Ahmed Patel, finance minister, Mr Pranab Mukherjee and the home minister, Mr P. Chidambaram have been asked to rein in Mr Jagan Mohan Reddy. The three-member team will convey the high command’s decision to Mr Jagan and also tell him that the party will never ignore the services of Y.S. Rajasekhar’s family and their interests will be protected. Based on the “inputs” given by these three leaders, Mrs Sonia Gandhi will meet Mr Jagan Mohan Reddy. Sources said that Rajya Sabha MP, Dr K.V.P. Ramachandra Rao, who is also the mentor of the Jagan camp, will be told by the high command to see that the CLP meeting passes off smoothly.
After taking an assurance from him, the CLP meeting will be held to pass two resolutions. One will be a condolence over the death of YSR, and another one-line resolution “authorising” the Congress president, Mrs Sonia Gandhi, to “select” the CLP leader. The observers will convey the same to the Congress president. In order to send a strong message to several first time MLAs, the high command will see to it that Mr Rosaiah’s name be proposed by Mr Jagan Mohan Reddy himself.
This is the formula which will be adopted by the party high command and sources said that Mr Rosaiah alone will be at the top post in the state as they consider him amicable to all sections and groups in the party.
