CBI to probe YSR helicopter crash

Sept 7: The Centre on Monday immediately agreed to the state government’s request for a probe by the Central Bureau of Investigation into the helicopter crash in which Dr Y.S. Rajasekhar Reddy was killed.
The state home minister, Mrs P. Sabita Indra Reddy, and the agriculture minister, Mr N. Raghuveera Reddy, said the state had sent a letter to the Centre seeking a CBI probe. The Chief Minister, Mr K. Rosaiah, also spoke to the Union home minister, Mr P. Chidambaram.
Ms Reddy said the government would also constitute a two-member committee with the former IPS official, Mr M.R. Reddy, an expert on VVIP security, and Mr H.S. Kola, former director-general of civil aviation to probe the crash. The report will be out in two months.
